SotM Update:
Starting November, we are pausing our regular Species of the Month updates. We're making this decision so that we have more time to focus on other projects that we believe could have a greater impact on the world of conservation. This decision is not permanent, but if you want to learn more about endangered species yourself in the meantime, here are some lists:
Environmental Conservation Online System (ECOS) List
IUCN Red List of Threatened Species
Thank you for your interest in and willingness to learn more about the wonderful world we live in and what we can do to help conserve it! We will provide more updates as to what is happening with SotMs as we move forward.

What is Species of the Month?
Each month, we pick an endangered animal or plant to spotlight. We go over basic facts about that species, why it is endangered, and what YOU can do to help save it! Check out our website, Instagram, and YouTube every 5th day of each month for updates!
Do you have an animal or plant that you'd like us to spotlight? Email us: hellogenconservation@gmail.com! Please note that it's not guaranteed we'll be able to take your request because we can only take a new request every month, so if there's a species you're really passionate about, we encourage you to also spread the word yourself!
Please also contact us at hellogenconservation@gmail.com if you know of something new happening with one of our past spotlighted species! We try to update our pages to keep them as reliable and relevant as possible.
